Peaky,

With the wings you have much more righting moment than the Finn so even though you think you may have trouble you have a lot more leverage....and depending on your weight you could move the wings further out to give you more advantage

Er there is just the one thing though..

You are over 88kgs so should really be joining all the Phantom sailors

agreed...however they don't have a spinnaker.....and hell I am not that old yet.

Hi Guys!

For the record the only connection between Tim and us is that he has placed an order for a new D-One.  Obviously we hope that we will develop a friendship with Tim once he has taken delivery of his new D-One as we have done with everyone who has bought boats from us over the years.  I guess that you have managed to stop Tim or any of our other customers from posting here either now or in the future with your bullying tactics.  I wonder if that was the intention or would you like input from the people who decided to buy a D-One?

I REPEAT, Tim is just a customer and there is no other link with Suntouched, Devoti or any other associated businesses.  I would, however, be surprised if Tim doesn't want to see the D-One class develop rapidly in the UK so that he can enjoy good class racing.

It's been clear to me from the outset that there are a number of people who post on these forums with the sole intention of upsetting others and I think that is seriously sad for the sport of sailing.  I am not sure what is behind these attacks on our customer but I would be grateful if you would all back off and I also think that there are some apologies due to Tim!!!

I suggest that we have a D-One critics day where you can get out in the boat and criticise from a position of strength.  Anyone interested please email me on rodney@suntouched.co.uk

I have always tried to keep a balanced view and be helpful and informative on this thread and am happy to answer any direct questions about the D-One, Devoti or Suntouched.

Er!  Plenty of room under the boom, I plan to reduce my weight to 80 Kilos to sail the D-One, the rig can be easily depowered due to the mast, traveller and downhaul (cunningham) combinations.   Tim came off the water with a grin fro ear to ear so I guess that he actually liked the D-One!

Come and try the boat for yourself.

actually, my question about boom height was provoked by the recent photos of the RS100 with a bigger main and lower boom than before (i.e., the comment was the other way round) - I asked Tim because he said he had sailed both boats (I havent yet)

I am hoping that the trolley will fit my rs400 roadbase, although I have got the roofracks packed just in case.

Well Rodney, one thing to learn about a forum, it is not a Borg style
collective, it's a mix of various opinions, not everyone bullied Tim.

I did, I apologised, I still think you put him up to it, but hey so would I
have done following the P.R. disaster you and the eyties have so far
managed to tarnish this boats reputation with in an attempt at viral
marketing.

Had I done it I might have suggested he came on some time back with
the question.

"hey guys I'm thinking of dumping my Rs100 deposit in favour of the D1
Fed up wth waiting, whaddya think?" Hell I'm fed up with waiting I'd do
the same in a heartbeat if I thought I could sail it off my beach, but no, it
wasn't quite like that and it ellicited the reaction it did, I'm not even sure
you backing him up is helping but whatever...

Forum folk are mostly genuine blokes who sail, talk about each others
experiences adventures gripes groans etc, So when someone enters the
fray with a single post about nothing more than a commercial activity
then doubt inevitably creeps in. I'm sorry for that.

But that's the way it is.

Interestingly Uncle Rodney can read and is more than little dispointed in your attacks on Tim.  I have read the whole thread from end to end and it's the same few who keep knocking the D-One - there are also those who, like me, think the D-One looks great.  I'm biased but the others aren't!  If you read back on this thread you will see my comment 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.  There are those who think it is worth the investment but each to their own!

I hope you will come and sail the D-One sometime as you are more than welcome
