Hiking Shorts?
Seriously as much as I'd like some they're a cross between lederhosen and bondage weekly, I fall about when the blokes in the changing room put them on. I don't know what's worse them or benders in lycra going road biking.. |

I think hikers should be banned. They look silly, cost a bomb and give an advantage over those that don't have them. Scrapping them would level the playing field, improve fashion and save cash. |

GRF: you can get full-length hikers that look just like normal long-john wetsuits. I've also found the velcro pads from my Magic Marine ones velcro quite nicely to my Gul thermals, allowing me to use them without the 3/4 lengths, though the lederhosen do have the advantage of having a properly reinforced seat (avoids ripping) and proper knee pads.
They do cost a f**king bomb though. It is silly that a decent pair cost the same as a half-decent 3/2 steamer |

I don't know where it was, but I came across some hiker strap-on do dahs
that I could conceal beneath my boardies. Power ex or power something I tried buying them off the site but it failed at the time, now I've forgotten what they were even called. Not sure I'll need them for long, my wires seem to be working and it takes the weight off the back of your legs, seems much more comfortable. |

Crikey, the straps are 'orrible compared to 3/4 length ones. I think Gul and Magic Marine both still do them. Under boardies would I suppose be kind of OK. On their own they look like chaps (though with a butt.
in fact, I've got a barely used pair, but they're a bit big on me (even with drysuit on), so they'd be massive an a dwarf. Edited by alstorer |

Here they are, hikers re-invented it says,
their research labs no less, so it must be true. Power pads, cool I thought. I'll stuff em up my trouser legs no-one will notice and I'll still keep cracking on about anyone wearing hikers being lame.. ![]() ![]() Edited by G.R.F. |

I've seen someone "recreate" those using Rooster pads and tubular bandages. Migth save you a bit of cash- those Zhik power pads are an eye watering £73 a pair versus £18 plus about £3.30 each for suitable Tubigrip bandages from Boots. Under all your kit, as you say, so apart from the lads in changing room, who's to know?

£73? That'll be the damned euro, they're obviously some European outfit not
costing the UK market in USD, wont sell many of them then will they? Funny I'm about to go into negotiation with something similar and that'll be the first item on the agenda before negotiations commence. |

They're Aussies. Even Aussies comment that they're a "premium" brand...
