The design is sound and the folk at SA have some great ideas on how you can mod the kit without making new holes so you can go back to class legal racing. The normal location of kicker & cunningham is optimized for crew. Working with them can get to be a challenge when its blowing hard and you need to be on the wire. Try it. Good fun.

i would also think you would need to move the wire back abit in the boat for easier tacks and gybes and also a longer spinny halyard so you could hoist the kite further back in the boat in the wavey stuff wouldnt hurt

upwind would be fine as its a lightweights boat, though i guess you could struggle if your a lightweight yourself

It was discussed before and  the outcome i believe was yes it would be a good single hander  but you would need a cleat for main downwind.

Its probably be discussed before but would 29er make a good single hander ?  It may need a few running rigging mods  but it seems to have a lot of good points already.   For a start they are available at a reasonable price in the used market, they have a jib ( like a Canoe and Swift Solo) and of course they are nice a light, so, can be rightend after a spill by one person.

Probably a daft idea but I did have a good look at one in the dinghy park the other week and it kind of appealed more than a 700, a Musto or a Contender.

Has it got too much upwind sail area ?
