Sorry to see you car like that, Its a shame as it lookes in mint condition and would have lasted for years. Have you a sound track of the exhaust, only a few sound like the v8 speed boats in Florida at Disney. I am thinking of getting a big speaker and playing it from my wifes car at traffic lights?

Do not take the first offer from the insurance, the second or third offer was the best a few years ago. takes a lot of time before they give you the money on the third

Glasses price guide valuation was invaluable when some chav wrote off my astra (they drove into it at speed whilst it was parked at the side of the road, police never caught them) The insurance company had under valued it by almost £1000 but i just told them that i had a glasses valuation for my car and I wasn't going to accept less than what the car was insured for, the next day a cheque was on my doormat for £50 less than the cars value.... sorted  well except for having to claim on my own insurance due to the chav scum driving away.

pricing it is going to be "interesting".  Glasses do price it, but it's not accurate as only a handfull change hands every year (only 500 ever made).

Have already collated all the adverts I can find currently and we'll see.

Can you ask the insurance company to find the replacement, if you are offered too little?

Yes.

That then focusses THEIR mind on the problem.

They will struggle to find one of similar age, with similar low miles and in mint condition.

Simon if you need any help i work in the motor trade for a Major Auction company.  Can i just point out to people here though that the insurance company will never pay you retail money back for your car! They will only pay you CAP average/clean price for your vehicle (This is the true industry trade guide, they don't use glasses) They will not pay you for the dealers Margin (retail money) if you want them to then you should pay for total loss GAP or Vehicle replacement insurance when you buy your car new! I have been FSA credited amongst other things and unfortunately unless you pay a specialist insurer they wont care how many Subaru type uk's etc have been sold or change hands you will only get a trade price for your vehicle.  How can an insurance company be held accountable for how many vehicles the manufacturer sold of that type?

Trade price is the price THEY CAN source a car.  If they do not play ball I will use the same method I did when I had a car stolen.  OK, Find me a car and replace it.

Usually gets them in the mood.

I was told by Subaru dealer that the Car is not in CAP.

If your ring CAP they will be able to give you the price for it escpecially if it Glasses. CAP has a much bigger data range then glasses, if you get hold of a full experian report on the vehicle it should even have the CAP code.  Good luck trying to beat the insurance company.  They unfortuyantely don't have to source you a car and no insurance policy i new for old or old for old!  As stated before the insurance are not interested in paying the dealer margin fora start.  IF you want to get what you paid for a vehicle back after an acident you need to buy a GAP policy.  This covers the differnce between an insurance payout and what you paid for the vehicle.   I know its a pain in th arse and quite frankly bullsh*t, but these are the facts.
