I had just about decided to try that, hard eyes in all the splices. Just waiting to get paid now.

Oh yes, and I actually went sailing. 2 races. Wind all over the place in strength (forces 1 to 4) and direction (wandered around 120 degrees or so along the way). And it rained...a lot... I discovered I am nowhere near where I need to be fitnesswise, and the only thing worse than getting to the 'windward' mark to find a dead run awaiting you, is getting to a reach to find it's beam to close when you want beam to broad... Oh yes, and there was weed. lots of weed...

It used to be the same in our game, they're so used to gusty shifty
conditions their board/boat handling and response time has to be like
lightning quick.

Only thing that stops pond sailors in their tracks is a massive shore dump
and even bigger scarier things out back!

Sorry we missed your banjo's, my man's still not well enough..

Tiger Trophy was all about sunday.  Saturday consisted of a 2 hourt on-the-water postponement, and two VERY light races.

Sunday dawned however, and we had sunshine and 20-25 knots for the most part, dropped of to about 12 towards the end of the race, doing most of the length of the lake downwind, flat out made the whole weekend worthwhile, reminded me why we go sailing, perfect! even managed to scrabble a top 10 finish in the pursuit race despite a swim on the first lap, not bad for two crews in a boat

FLAT IS FAST!

I'm sat here with sunburn, a big bruise on my ankle, my ribs on both side really hurting, and a big smile on my face.

That was some of the best racing I've done in the UK in the past couple of years.

Oh, and it helps that we won the Asymmetric class too

Bob its times like that i wished i hadnt drifted round a small puddle in fairford for 6 hours!

No excuses for them not attending their open on the Medway, then. A chap from Rickmansworth (not exactly noted for wild Estuary conditions) showed our locals the way round in every race!

How is it these pond sailors do so well out of context? An RS200 from Chipstead (where there's hardly room for ducks, let alone boats) beat our local hot 200 as well... Good boat handling after lots of mark-rounding practice, I guess.
