the price, the exotic materials, the questionable aesthetics and the fact that
there are other manufacturers in the market with more cost effective

...and the RS100 thread isn't marketing as well.........come on grow up !! Let folk have their say, let's see how the classes look in 5 or 6 years time. The DS will be on the market/production before the RS I guess so could well claim to fill that gap for now.

Can please someone explain to me why a traveller is more effective to DEPOWER a main than a well engineered vang/gnav (vang seems to work perfectly at least for our mainsail which is similar size) and why a Musto needs a trapeze if you can hold down a similar sized main on a similar wide boat without trapeze @70 kgs?

I've done some sums that suggest that at 70kg, the "design wind" is 8kts for the D1. For the big rig RS100 with a 90kg helm, it is about 10kts.  If the big rig was sailed by a 70kg sailor, it would be 8kts, like the D1, but RS presumably consider this too low or they wouldn't be offering a small rig as well.   For boats like the RS200 and Tasar, it is about 11kts.

I take it that's the taxable income you actually declare to the government and the rest of your income comes from running one of those family protection rackets. Or how else did you afford this piece of sailing erotica?
