Torbole looks nice. The D1 just looks so tubby, a sort of bloated Franken-OK. It must be fiddly to attach/detach the wings, what with the controls being led to them. Its never fun undoing stopper knots with hands that feel like bananas, after a cold January sail. I'm also amazed a fixed kicker was considered, but I suppose the traveller reduces the importance of the kicker somewhat.
The porta-potty is great for taking your baby in though, bit like this: |

You see chaps, you're finding more and more value in it
the more you look. I am sure the wings just clip on without any faffing about what so ever, in a couple of seconds. |

On the B14s the controls are led to the wings, usually on continuous systems with elastic takeups etc. There's enough slack when the main is off, plus enough elastic give, that we can easily detach and stow the wings for trailering without any bother. I know the way we've got ours set up to get the wings more than a couple of feet away from the boat would require a drill (to remove rivets) or knife (to cut the lines). So: not an issue. |

Turnturtle, why, if the D-one is not for you must you continue to knock it? As they point out the target market is not necessarily the same. To me it appears one is being built to a price to satisfy one need, whilst the other is to satisfy a more specific requirement. If its not for you, why continue to poke at it, do you have a vested interest, or are you trying to achieve one ? Either order one, or leave it to others to make their own judgement. |

Brooksey, an open forum is generally a place were people can post the opinion right or wrong! TT has just mentioned that he think the boat i ugly and too expensive, which may i add so have about 90% of the posters!

That seems a bit harsh Brookesy. The D1 has got 50 pages of comment (which is probably way more than it merits) and
most of it is positive. Quite a few posts are genuinely from people with a vested interest, and nobody complained about those. If TT doesn't like the look of the thing then that's fine. TBH, "Do I like the look of the D1 ?" is probably the only question that everyone in the entire world will be able to answer for themselves without being swayed by anyone else's opinion. |

Merlinboy I agree that this is an open forum and saying that the D-one is "ugly" is all fair. However, I can't help thinking that maybe some of us have been a little repeatative in the sl*gging of the boat....? Of course, it's an open forum so you're welcome to shoot me down. |

Well I am in the minority in that I really like it. But then I used to sail a Finn, which I think is a beautiful looking boat, so maybe my views are different to others on this forum. If funds and my knackered back (not from Finn sailing I might add) would allow I would certainly have one. |

As I think I said on another forum, my mother-in-law is better looking than the D1...
