So has anyone put their name down for a trial sail in the D 1 ?

Perhaps one of the peeps who trial the 100 might like to give
it a go?

Then we could get a bit of real life stuff into this.

After all, D 1 selling man appears to have made the "martini"
offer. Be rude not to wouldn't it ?

Thing is who is who's mate here?.... I knew I'd seen those graceful lines somewhere before... that's right on a cut and shut Cherub. We've always been ahead of the game... in the ironic retro design game?

So why is it no-ones made a single handed Cherub?

But called it something sensible like Arc Angel if it has to be something
religious..?

I think that is a self build boat though, which is always going to limit its
appeal.  Not to mention it looks about as easy to sail a taking a 49er out
on your own.

Funny until I saw the comparison figures side by side, I thought

a)What a beautiful boat wish I could get one over here
b)How much easier it must be to sail than a Musto (No going into irons
with the self tacking jib, no massive step out and that huge gap between
standing on the boat or on the racks.)
c)How it should be put into mass production.

Then I noticed the sail area, nobodies going sailing in that in a strong
breeze.. Not at my weight anyhow.

People say its quite accessable to sail. Anyhow, I don't imagine there would be anything to stop you putting a smaller rig on it - the sails / spars are unrestricted by manufacturer I believe. Should be easy to do, the rig is like a downsized 14 so all fairly derivative, I'm sure plenty of people would be able to help with that.

To a certain extent, it's been designed for the large parts of the US that genuinely have lighter average winds than we do- much as Aus and NZ have generally stronger winds. It has, also, been designed for people who aren't midgets.

Nothing to stop you of course buidling a hull and then putting a smaller rig on it.
