But that's an aside.

Of course what makes the "Finn is Fastest" thing so amusing is that moderate performance boats like the Finn are actually far more popular than high performance boats, so making crazy exaggerated claims about performance would seem most likely to harm the popularity of one's class...

Although on the other hand maybe what might sell best of all would be medium performance boats that the owners can claim are fast, as far more people like talking about owning high performance boats than will actually ever put their hand in their pocket to buy one. In that respect maybe the Finn people are bang on the mark!

Hmm I think looking like a skiff is like saying you look like a rent boy.

Isn't there some other less degraded term.

What's wrong with Performance Sailboat or craft.

PSB

All Skiff says to me is slooow in light air and uncontrollable mess in any
decent breeze..

Not that I'd consider such a term for that DV1, that looks like a modern
Morgan in car similes

Sorry should be another thread maybe..

I am starting to think that the devoti might be a bit "mid life crisis" for me, a very well designed mid life crisis I have to admit, with padded seats to nurse the tired backs of its helm who decided the RS 100 looked a bit too wet and uncomfortable.

I am worried that aswell as getting a nosebleed from being so high up on those bench/wings a lot of the sensation of speed would be lost from being so high.

I am still open to the idea if it does sail a lot better than the 100 but cant get over how tubby it looks  which makes it look heavy even though isnt really.

The name of the 'peoples car' literally translated is the 'strength through joy' car.

Does that make the Finn the 'strength through weight of necessity' boat?

So what are you saying then?

If you woke up next to a D-One would you gnaw through your arm rather
than wake it?[/QUOTE]

Something like that. Which isn't to say that I wouldn't have had the time of my life and doubtless pick up a few tricks. Just that at least partial inebriation, as well as a dimmer switch turned down very, very low would be needed to make the union a palatable one in the first place.

You know you might have something there, the German...Erhum... 'peoples car' was designed to float. I presume Mr Ferdinand will have continued this inspired design feature, conjured up by his then leader. Impressively future proofing the 911 for this very situation.
