Oh, and allow all this hating. Not the place and I can not be arsed to read through pages of people bollocks about why they don't like someone who typed something on the interweb...

RS500 = a dinghy. Built for fun, speed, and exhilaration.

Windsurfer: Built for people too fall off, or air-row. ( Yes, I watched a few minutes of the footage from Athens of everyone pumping their way around the course. )

To be fair, the current water speed record is held by a windsurf. At the Cherub nats in Weymouth, when it was to windy to sail (unfortunately most of the time) people went windsurfing. They were keeping up with us in the car as we drove along the bay.

Conclusion: I need to learn how to windsurf.

So at least you admit to liking some Aussie stuff - clearly a man of discernment.

Are two.

Slim and None.

You are a prat, mate is an expression used by people of my generation, to acknowledge people they don’t know like "can I have a pint of lager cheers mate” I wouldn’t want to be your "mate" either and by the sounds of the responses to you on this forum I would say you don’t have many!  Finally the Tewkesbury Caravan Club bit is a joke for members of my sailing club (Tewkesbury sailing Club) the chances of you understanding Sarcasim

We were making Boards with Nomex core in 1981.

Foils were used in Weymouth by Icarus in 1979.

As to BBSC Faithful's Mensa award winning suggestion as to rig loadings
on a windsurfer - he doesn't really get it does he? They're free rigs there
are no hull loads - doh.

Look, it's no good getting all aerated with me, I can't help it if you're
being served so badly and like i said its just my opinion..

But the thing that really gets me is all the annoying trivia, those pathetic
shroud adjusters no two brands compatible. None carbon sail battens,
rope that stretches like elastic, cleats that wear within months and Holt,
ffs how is it twenty years later they're still making garbage.

I did buy a decent new main sheet block the other day, quite well
designed from Ronstan its new, uses spectra rather than a shackle, has
quite an innovative auto sequence, but in general stuff like that seems to
be the exception rather than the rule..
