I sometimes kneel on the foredeck, especially when I'm packing the kite in light airs

Kneeling is not knee friendly either (too much time in church).  You are right if the point is that non slip is not kind to hikers but I have never sailed a boat where knees get on the floor.  What you need is a cheap add on to hikers that can be Velcroed on and when worn through discarded to be replaced with new ones.

Now if you want to sail on an inland pond like ours and by sail I mean every Wednesday and Sunday, then forget wizz-bangs. If you are young and fit, a 300 will do. Other than that Lightning, Supernova or Phantom for our two fat boys. I reality my clumsy old Solo stands no chance on 1150 but it will beat shagged out club Radials. The vast majority of the races are won on handicap by a Lightning....but there is another factor there........So let us be kind to the classes that lack carbon but ooze charm. Make peace with your future.....it will be with you soon enough!

As a Phantom sailor and I think the blaze is the same you kneel downwind on the run, and in light airs, non slip is not knee friendly.

well with all this universal Solo loathing, it's good to know that they won't be around much longer and we should have scores of new fleets of exciting new boats popping up around the ponds and river clubs where they seem so prevalent....   Wink
