Noble Marine are 'the best'. Cheque today for full insured amount less just £50 for the sail not being on the boat. I thank them very much. Fenella, we are in business I will contact you soon!

We use a generator. The previous one was stolen ten years ago! This one is big, in a stone shed and would need a crane to move it. The rescue boats and outboards are in a blockwork building with steel doors. The toilets are also in blockwork with steel doors padlocked. (this is to stop the bloody fishermen using the toilet when the water is turned off in winter). The clubhouse and starters hut are both very vulnerable but seem to escape so far..... When I replace my boat I shall no longer park it in my hard won spot next to the slipway but tuck it away and chain it down. What asad situation.

The last few years of Warwick Sailing Club were plagued by vandalism, in the summer I let nettles grow round my boat & banned my husband from cutting them, my boat was left alone. Persistent vandalism can really get you down & what happened to that Byte really is awful.

Sorry to hear and see this, terrible. I'm intrigued though, if you don't have power do you use a generator or similar to power lights etc.. or do you tough it out? Wireless CCTV cameras can be purchased but would still need to be connected to something that did require power to work (recorder, PC)..... I wouldn't dismiss fencing and a decent padlock either, back in the day at BLYM I can remember quite a few occassions where mindless vandalism or petty theft was committed on boats in the compound with holes in the fence while more valuable boats in the more secure compound where left untouched. A good patch of brambles and/or nettles is a very organic deterent, even a hedge wouldn't hurt (you). |

Thank you GRF for your comments. Close to the fire an old wooden GP 14 was parked. It has not seen the water in many years. Why did they not choose that? We could have both rejoiced!
The reason why of course is that your modern vandal is lazy and chose the lighter boat, not like in my day........... |

I'm sorry to hear of this tickler, where is this club of yours, there must be some mindless t**ts nearby.
Obviously more than a couple, and some gang egging each other on. It is such a shame, even in my warped book, that shouldn't happen.
