I didn't plot the Illusion as it's a keelboat really. It didn't turn up as I set the database to list only dinghies.

The others are: 12ft skiff, 16ft skiff, 23erxx and of course the Ultra 30 (9 trapezes).

Has anyone ever tried sticking a symmetric on a Contender or a Streaker?.........if the answer is no then it's because nobody fancies the idea.

Mind you a Streaker with a symmy.....Mmm

There are of course many 2 handed symmy boats that get single handed on a regular basis.

Why would anyone want one? Talk about tiny niches... There *used* to be quite a number of pole kite multiple string classes in AUS & NZ, but precious few now: just about all allow sprits. Don't forget the reason why Andrew Buckland andJulian Betwaite came up with the idea was because the poles had become pointless.

I14's were twin wire before they went to asym kite.

And not a single twin wire symetric. Need to change the
5o5 rules; with two on the wire and the new kite, those
things would be really good fun on a reach. Even the
javelin could use a second wire above F4! Twin wire FD?
Now that would be fun.

PS: "Can't help but feel that this is revelant (fruity
language warning)."

Love it! . But call that "fruity"?

Can't help but feel that this is revelant (fruity language warning).

As for the singlehanded trapeze boat with symmetrical spinnaker- bag kite I assume? I'm thinking "old school" end-for-end "simple" spinnaker pole too.

(if you were really going to do it, chute launch and double permanently rigged poles would be the only solution)

That's the trouble with these new-fangled boats, they defy categorisation. I suppose for the purposes of this diagram such boats could count as a dot in each section of the diagram, since they exist in both versions...

So, has anyone started designing a singlehanded trapeze boat with symmetrical spinnaker, to fill the empty niche?
