Sailing the planker was great fun but it is a very silly boat. And I think it would be kind of hard in real waves till you get used to it, I dint feel there was much to hold yourself on the boat with. But I'll be happy to give it a shot in waves some time  Roger as long as you don’t mind doing some swimming when I fall off!
...yesterday I couldnt spell enginner...now I are one!......

Having crewed Roger at a CVRDA classics event, and gone out and bought an old (there isn't another sort!) ToY because of the planking experience, I can not only say that planking is great fun, but that Roger is more competitive than he is making out...if he can keep the boat in one piece for long enough!

I have to correct you. I know of two other plankers. One is in a museum on the Isle of Wight but is not as old as mine and there is another one sailing somewhere in the south east but havent seen her yet.

 Paul dont come to see come to try. You can have a go at being a planker. Ask Offshore Tiger she tried it but it was very quiet.I dont think she wanted to try waves on the plank.

That's right Paul, the one and only sliding seat Hornet.  (Or "planker" as it is affectionately known......the boat that is, not Roger).

Anyway Roger I think your going to find you have plenty space on the start line, no one is going to want to get to close in case you start putting letter boxes in the side of there boat!

I second that emotion.  

However I would like to point out that Rogers's boat is fairly unusual, but very useful for extreme ironing, sunbathing and picnics afloat.  He has done a brilliant job on it.
