surely it depends what brand you replaced them with.  I routinely junk all the drake straps which come with star-baords.... Dakine is pimp (or it was before they let the man go who made it so), now I use a Dutch company called Unifiber.

If you replace them all at different times, does it remain the same board, like the broom?

Yes we've cheated slightly there by usinig fibreglass, plus its only 14 foot long, but with the home built spars (massive pain in the behind, we had to build those in the conservatory to mums chargrin) we pretty much have the sail plan of the larger ones!

We did look at gowens, but hydes gave us a better package, plus with the k6 having hydes im sure we'll just chop and change them about at some point!! Wink
 
still lots to do with the harken fittings and what have you, i'll get some snaps of the gudgeon and rudder pintels, again excessive pimping.....
