Well, I'm definately not a woman, but used mine for the first time this weekend and came away very impressed.  Very comforrtable, secure and easy to use.  I put it on and forgot about it!

Maybe it was the velcro then. having not seen the harness myself I amn't sure of the attachment.

What zip?

I've just bought one, initial impressions are of good build quality and a comfortable fit.  Velcro closure is neat and feels secure.

Sizing is on the small size for me.  According to their chart I'm right in the middle of the weight range for the size I ordered, but I think I'm at the upper limit when I put it on with a wetsuit.

Without doubt this is a pricey option, but I feel confident that I could undo the two velcro flaps and release any hook entrapmment if I did get caught underwater.  Safety was certainly a consideration for me.

First try-out this weekend (if I get out at all).... I'll let you know.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread

 

I have picked up a crewing job on a 5oh and while I have a perfectly serviceable Trap Harness, it is a multi adjustable strap and spreader bar jobby, so I am thinking of a new harness - Zhik

Read a bit about Zhik and the new harness and it is all good - but then (to misquote Mandy Rice-Davis) "they would say that wouldn't they"

 

My question is.......  Has anyone actually got / used the Zhik harness and what are your thoughts?

I find they take some getting used to, but crews who have persevered say they have no problems...

The flush hooks are not great for quick tacks and gybes though.  it's tricky to get hooked on compared to a conventional harness, in my opinion.
