It sounds like the one Laser sell. They have a instruction leaflet with pictures:- http://www.lasersailing.com/downloads/kit-manuals/Mast%20hea d%20flotation%20instructions.doc  (4MB) I found a bit of silcone lube helps with hoisting.

Olly's quite right however here's a bit more detail:

If you use a bobble to attach the mainsail to the halyard, thread, the halyard through the loop at one end of the mast head float, then through the eye on the sail, and then through the other loop on the float, secure as normal (the loops on the other end of the float are unused in this case). Wrap the centre part of the float around the bolt-rope and then thread this into the sailtrack with the inflated parts either side of the sail. When you pull the float up the track, watch out for the kite halyard as they sometimes get caught on the float on the way up and you'll need to pull them out of the way until the float has gone past them.

Hope that helps,

Nigel

I have recently bought a second hand rs feva XL. I then went and bought a mast floatation device as someone said it was very useful. It has now arrived but i have no idea how to put it on to the rs feva mast. I hav e treid to conact rs about it but they don't reply . It is lika a rectangle with two tubes on each side you can inflate and two loops on each end. Does nayone now how to put it on.
