Hi, the Spice is a great twin trapeze boat if you just want to go for a blast and come back with a big grin on your face! It is a simple and strong boat so you won't break it easily, unlike more expensive and hi tech twin trapeze boats (I've had them as well, which were also fun, but in a different way). The Spice will normally sell for between £1000 and £1500 if it is in good condition with good sails, if you need sails then it's up to you what to pay. ISO sails will fit fine, although an ISO spinnaker is smaller (18m2 compared to 22.5m2) so you have to restrict how far the pole extends. Spare parts are available from Vantage Sailing, who also supply Buzz, ISO and Boss spares. Less than 90 Spices were built, mainly because the RS800 was launched just after the Spice. Hope that helps :-)

Yeah, work on the assumption that you'll haven't throw it away when you've had enough of it, and remember it's very easy to find you have to spend some hundreds of quid just to get a clapped out old boat into a state where you can sailboat without bits dropping off.

One of the reasons (but not the only one of course) boats end up on eBay is because nobody has made an offer when they were advertised elsewhere and the owner has been trying to get rid of it for ages. I suspect there will be few bidders for a Spice, so if there are no others you'll get it for the start price, but it's only worth that if your going to have fun sailing it.

Bid whatever you are prepared to not get back. They are not that common say there is little demand for them so be prepared to keep it for a long time.

Whatever it is worth to you, really. If it is worth more to someone else, then they will win it. The market is so small for them, I can't see there being a minimum value (for instance, GRP Solos always seem to hit bottom at about £500) so it will really depend upon whether there are 2 or more people looking for one at the same time.

Not too helpful an answer I know, but valuing unusual boats is almost impossible.
