valid point- but my Osprey is a 20 year old wooden version with metal pole and mast - will stay that way and am still winning the odd race at open meetings and fhe second baot at the natilnals was also wood/classic
the boat builders wierd classes seem to be waning and people seeing the sense in buying classic classes like Osprey and Javelin (you have to admit it does look a lot like an Osprey!) RS400 prices have dropped like a stone

nice one ,but i have to say i have previously owned osprey no.28 and then later no.1022 when an osprey was an osprey and not a modern variant. when we say classic one design we mean it .. looking forward to seeing you with your carbon fibre bow sprit .. you know it,s only a matter of time you,ll be able to race along side an rs 400 heres to classic one design classes have a look at jjboats for the one design classic ................... no offence intended

We have three Javelins entered at SailFest, so if you are in the Weymouth area over the Bank Holiday Weekend chance to see the class close up.
We also have a growing number of Fireballs competing, so a bit of a Peter Milne jamboree. For both racers and spectators/visitors plenty of shoreside activities, workshops and taster sessions - free parking and venue access. http://sailfest.sailracer.org/ |

Having considered a Javelin in the past, I did found the lack of information on the internet a major obstacle that put me off taking it further. For example I could not find any way of figuring out whether any were for sale. I just looked at the class website again and I still think the class would stand a much better chance if there was more information for potential class sailors.
