![]() OK all boat repair specialists, is this repairable and if so how?
It is an RS Tera and I am concerned that theboat has already started soaking up water. I have not bought this boat yet but it is cheapish but don't want to end up with something very heavy.
Alternatively does anyone know of any Teras for sale anywhere, preferrably on the south coast?

One of my chief prejudices against rotomoulded plastic construction... How DO you fix it...
I'm lead to believe the cunning plan is to melt some more plastic on. http://www.ldcracingsailboats.co.uk/boat-care-boat-repair-rs-boat-repair-kits.irc |

crikey, that's taken some amount of abuse! They been attacking it with a belt sander? Dragging it up a slipway made of carbide paper?

You can plastic weld cracks up, but that looks pretty serious to me.

It is a sailing school boat, hence the abuse. I don't think I will be buying it.

If you are refering to the shape of the hull, they are built like that, it hasn't been "sanded" at that angle.
The Sailing school boats OH centre has have "adapted them with "canoe rubbing streak" that you mould on. The issue with the Teras is similar to the Toppers, when they sit on their trolleys you have a tendancy to scrape the back of them. If you are looking for a Tera, I think there is one going cheap at the centre an individual is selling in West London. The major issues to look out for are cracks in the cockpit and wear down the mast step. PM form more info.

Honestly, if it's sustained that much damage I'd seriously think about how badly it must have been treated, and then consider how badly damaged it is likely to be in other places because of it.
I think you can get a repair kit from RS but I don't think it'd be worth your time bothering with it. I'd find a better condition boat to buy.
