Can anyone advise me of a really strong glue which will join a plasticky/canvassy material from which my boat cover is made. It is parting along two seams and I want to join these without sewing by gluing patches of similar material on the underside. I've tried all the usual easily available contact adhesives but none will stick properly. I've got it patched at the moment with spinnaker sail repair tape and strips of sail number material and these are sticking 'like glue' and the fabric in these seems to be fairly strong. But I would like to make a more permanent repair.

You could try the RIB air tube sticky patches.

Try the stuff used to stick drysuit seals or that used to mend inflatable boats. Edited by patj - 04 Feb 11 at 7:05pm |
