Dart 18 nationals this year at Stokes Bay is £101 early bird fee or £120 if you
pay closer to the event. I think thats excellent value.

The worlds in Weymouth will be £250 (early) or £295 (late) - again, I think
thats great value especially considering the social schedule that coming
together.

The Tasar fees do seem high

Worlds generally cost quite a bit more than nationals - Any class that is an ISAF recognised for a worlds has to pay quite a bit to the fed for the privilege...

Any ISAF Worlds will need to cover the expenses of an International Jury which could be 5 people x hotels x travel = quite a hefty entry fee.

I believe the Tasar is a full international class so that is probably the reason.

Whatever the reason it's still a lot of money, especially when most
Tasars (inBritain) are only worth a couple of grand. An entry fee that
high will surely reduce numbers, no matter the reasons for price? I
would have been tempted to borrow a boat, but not at that price!

As International classes have to pay for 5 international Jury members from around the world including flights, accommodation, 3 meals a day, jury boats etc etc this makes up a very high proportion of the entry fee. This is regardless of the size of fleet so smaller fleets pay more per boat.

It almost makes it worthwhile not to be an international class.

Still waiting to see what the entry fee will be for the Contender Worlds at Weymouth next year. Anything over £250 for the week and I will think twice about going. Anything over £300 and I probably won't go.

I think it was but it did include the Australian Nationals and the Worlds itself. So 2 events really. I personally don't like that because I may not be able to do both events and being Scottish don't like to pay for something I am not getting.

It is also considered to be one of the smaller (in numbers) of the Contender World events so it is more expensive to run per boat.

I hope Weymouth will be a 100+ event next year but this means the entry fee should not put some people off and there is a threshold.

If the Tasars want almost £400 then I think they have got it wrong.
