Hi,

We have a Dart TSX racing on sundays now, we have guestimated the PY at 780, but I suspect that is a little out,,,,,,,,, does anyone know the correct PY?. I have googled it and looked at websites I have found, can't find it though

Thanks.

It has a current SCHRS rating of 1.012; we suggest you use a conversion of x686 to get a starting point for a PY.  We then suggest you amend this for the location and skill of the sailors (as PY does this by it's calc method).

AS the TSX is very old and I assume it's got old sails I would suggest making the PY slower somewhat from 694; maybe start at around 725-750 and see what happens!  Yiu can always move it down if it starts to win and up if they get hammered!!!!

Where are you based?  I'm happy to explain to someone from the club if they want; Let me know and I'll PM you my phone no.

I'm at Pevensey bay and that is the TSX in question. 798 was what we where using but this week we adjusted it to 780 and that doesn't seem right either, it seems too favourable.  it's my turn to work out the results and I was reluctant to guess again.

PBSC is on the E.Sussex coast. A little more sheltered than Eastbourne and Hastings but just as lumpy a couple of hundred yards out. I will try Scoobies formula and see how it goes........I judge by the response that a PY was never issued for the boat???

Thanks for the help

Never!

I'd give it 750 as a starting point and work from that; I'm sure you have a rough idea of the sailors skill and can almost work backwards.  Send me a PM and we  can talk if you like.
