Just sold the Musto so I phoned up Noble Marine to get the insurance moved back onto our 29er. Not only did it just take one quick and simple phone call to organise but within two days I had a new policy document in my hands along with a cheque for the difference. This may be the service that I might have hoped for but its not the service I have come to expect from insurance companies so top marks Noble, excellent service as ever. Thanks Ian |

I was surprised to find out how much some people pay for their insurance - we've only been sailing for a few years but in that time we've insured a Topaz 'Race X' a Topper, a Comet Xtra and my RS Vareo - all through Noble Marine. I guess that a selection like that qualifies as being both cheapish and very robust hence the reasonable prices that we've paid for our premiums. Is a Phantom very expensive to insure ?............they seem to be fairly robust but they do seem very expensive to buy !

well i for one am very happy with my renewal price on my rs300, up from £96 to £150 after claims for a new mast, new boom, 2new panels on my mainsail leech, repairs to the hull. really cant fault them for their service. very professional and pleasant to deal with. insurance premiums depend on a variety of things, speed, likelyhood of breakages (e.g early rs600 angel masts), how controlable the boat is, what its worth etc. its very much like insuring a car... cats are usually quite expensive to insure though... |

Whats youre excess?? If you want cheaper preimiums put a higher excess on the policy! The only time you will loose is if you have to make a claim then £192 is very cheap if you consider the cost of a new phantom carbon stick!!!
You get what you pay for, and noble are widely claimed as the best for a reason, no one said they where the cheapest, but my pride and joy is in safe profesional hadns with them and i sure as hell wont use anyone else!
Ps Help these guys kick out fraudulant claims out of our sport by telling them about sailors who make false claims, break something on purpose, cheat the system this would help lower all our premiums massivly! |

I've just insured my sit-on-top sea kayak with them. After checking our club's byelaws, I realised that "Members owning a craft maintain an effective insurance, including public liability risks with a minimum indemnity of £2 000,000". Not wanting to be in trouble, I called Noble Marine for advice and I ended up getting £31.50 poorer. In our club, we have more and more sea kayaks appearing. I don't know how many owners have thought of insurance for their toy. Their boats are fully insured, of course, but not the windsurf equipment or the kayaks. Does this happen in other clubs? |
