Bit of a long shot but has anyone got a spare lower section of superspar mast for an RS600 that they would be willing to sell?

I can't get the mast plug out, and I'm worried if I apply any more force I'm going to damage it, thus needing a new one anyway, so if anyone has a spare one kicking about I might as well have that and save myself another day of struggling with it.

I'm a tad confused here...

Which part is the mast plug? (i do own a 600 but not totally sure - is it the bottom plastic bit that is removable so you can reef/shorten the mast? thanks)

thanks.

The lower section of the mast comes out for reefing purposes, but there is an ali plug that fits into the bottom of this section (and when you reef it goes into the bottom of the shortened mast).

I can separate the two mast sections fine but I wanted to replace the heel plug as it was showing signs of wear, and if you let it wear out then the bottom of the mast can catch on the screw heads on the mast step when it rotates and can damage the step and/or the surrounding gelcoat

jamie, i got the plug out of my mast earlier with a long heavy piece of wood.

step 1, find a mate to hold mast section

step 2, throw lump of wood down mast tube

step 3, repeat until plug comes out.

if this doesnt work, try getting the guy holding the section to lift i up sharply as the wood goes down. it took quite a lot of force to shift it but theres no damage done.

while were on the topic of mast plugs, does anyone know if RS stock them? i cant find it on their website and mineis severly worn.

I've tried the piece of wood method, I stopped because the inner sleave appeared to be moving, although I'm going to try removing the sleave and giving it another go.

LDC do sell the plugs, that's where I got mine from, £18!!! But they are not on the website, you have to ring and ask for one
