The Notice of Race for the above event has been posted on the Mumbles Yacht Club website. www.mumblesyachtclub.co.uk Please note that there will be one amendment. If the conditions are favorable only three race will be run on Sat 12th May. Race 7 will be a long course = approx 6.5 miles per lap, time duration around 2hrs. This race will count as part of the Nations Cup series for the F16's but will not count for the 'A' Class National Championships. Should the weather conditions prevent the long course race taking place then the current NOR will take effect.

It's ok Oz man judging on my last caravan south with my A I may well use a high horse or even a low one for that matter as it will probably be much more efficient and less prone to breakdowns than the discovery-still managed to have fun though!!!!!!!! |

don't take orses
they got big feet that stand on you
nastty big smelly teeth for biting
and a bit tough when lightly grilled
ps I've seen poor sods walking dugs , who when the dug poops , scoops into a poly bag and drops into their pocket ,
Would like to see orse drivers do same , equiped with a shovel and rucksack !!! |

Just to clarify my post I am also slightly confused that a couple of 'A' sailors are willing to shorten a National Championship Series as they don't want a proposed long course race to count.
The feed back I've had from the F16's has been very positive in this respect. As Scooby has already confirmed the idea of a long run and subsequent beat is something that is impossible to most pond sailors. Other 'A' sailors thought it would be a welcome break from the standard courses usually sailed at weekend Regattas and thus would set different challenges. Presently there is a real buzz about the 'A' Class Cats, they look like the dogs bits and subsequently a lot of interest is being produced, being a bit more susceptible to a slight change in a racing programme rather than just blanking it straight off as a non starter would IMO also help promote the a Class which is willing to try different ideas. At the end of the day it is a "development" Class. |

Dont want to get in a Bun fight here but a few points to make clear. We agreed at our AGM (A Class) in October with Mumbles to have a 10 race series at the 07 Nationals with a Medal Race, No mention of a Long Distance race at that time. The NOR States 12 races so if we lose 1 for the Long Distance we will still have 1 more than we were expecting if we dont want to participate in the Long Distance. The Class was asked (last Thursday - all seems a bit lastminute.com to me) its opinions on the Long Distance and those with them expressed them, resulting in a compromise which suits everyone equally. My personal opinion is to keep the long distance from being part of our nationals, i am not against innovations i am looking forward to the medal race So i am assuming that if we are on schedule and the weather is fine the LD will go ahead and not affect the nationals and those that want to do it can so isnt everyone happy ??? |
