Does anyone know anything about it?

Erm, the kite either doesn't fit, is on back to front, and the jib looks horrible!!!

It's seems to be THE place to be if you have some strange floating contraption for sale:

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F110196/

"Contender sailing dinghy, sails and combi-trailer. Ready to sail.
Extra long mast with twin trapeze with sails and fittings from a 505 sailing dinghy. a NORMAL CONTENDER SAIL and an extra 505 main sail and jib. All new rigging. Very fast, so fast that I am finding it too much for me and have other boats to sail. Come and have a look."

Nothing is said about the NORMAL CONTENDER MAST that might get handy on that kind of boat...

That's on the IoW... Anyone feeling guilty out there?

That looks seriously under canvassed for a twin wire boat. What is going on with the high aspect jib and weird spin? It is like some weird franken-boat made up of all kinds of bits.

Whoever owns it deemed it good enough to sink a fair amount of cash into it.

Looks like a runt from the I14 family!!
ugly piece of work!
Looks like someone foreign definitely had a say in that design.  Probably some dutch bike manufacturer wanting to put his hand to sailing and designed a "hybrid race around with your mates/have a picnic with your family" type thing

The ARO was at the Dinghy Show in the pre-historic days of asymmetrics (ISO). The guy on the stand was quite sensible and very enthusuastic.

I hope the experience of trying to launch a new class wasn't too painful for him.

I'm surprised it looks so Buzz-like in the photo, I remember it being a bit lower and racier looking...

Anyway, here's what the blurb said (my scrawl indicates he guessed the hull-weight at 85-90kg, all-up 110kg):

ive seeen these for sale before, but i must admit never in such good condition, the kite is on the wrong way round for starters, and it does look like it has had a lot of mods bringing it up to date a bit and looks quite tidy, it was supposed to be light years better than the buzz but never caught on because it didnt have a HUGE marketing machine behind it, ive seen one somewhere up here i just cant remember where, it was rather quick for what it is and i would probably compare it to an ISO if maybe not a little faster, im pretty sure its a lot lighter aswell. Just not so sure its worth the money but i think that fee also matches the guys graduation fees pretty well.....

I almost constantly feel guilty and im from the iow. Sadly this is nothing to do with me. It almost seems worth £350 to see how some one put a 5o5 rig on a contender.
