18 foot Skiffs NSW Championship won by John Harris Rag & Famish Hotel

Young sailing supremo, John Harris, today confirmed his position as the #1
18-foot skiff skipper by taking out the NSW Championship on a wind-less
Sydney Harbour under leaden skies.

The 24-year-old Sydney sailor skippering the RAG & FAMISH HOTEL skiff,
steered his crew of Craig Ferris and Chris Cleary to 4th place in today's
race, giving them a clear points overall victory in the State title, their
third major title this season. The RAG had previously secured the J J
Giltinan International Championship, the unofficial World title of 18-foot
skiff racing, and the Sydney Harbour Sprint Series, the lead-in event to
the season. The Australian Championship was the only title to elude the
RAG & FAMISH.

The Harris team took out 4 of the 6 heats of the NSW Championship, with a
tally of 4 wins, a 4th and a 5th placing .

Today's race was won by John Winning's AMP CENTREPOINT, with Hugh Stodart's
EXPRESS POST 2nd and Trevor Barnabas' OMEGA SMEG in 3rd place.
