Sunsail Offshore courses as fleet expands

by Trina Howes on 9 Mar 2001
With the continued expansion of Sunsail Australia's yacht charter fleet, the Sunsail Maritime Academy has announced four new Milecatchers Courses from Sydney to Hamilton Island in May 2001.

Sunsail has been overwhelmed by responses to its previous Milecatchers Courses, and has announced these additional delivery voyages to cater for this ongoing demand.

These unique courses allow sailing enthusiasts to accrue sea time and learn valuable offshore skills while delivering luxury Sunsail yachts between the company's bases in Sydney and Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays.

Under the guidance of AYF qualified and friendly Sunsail Maritime Academy Instructors, students
experience the thrill of offshore sailing, gaining tuition in an array of subjects including coastal
navigation, sail handling, safety, radio operation, helmsmanship and much more.

Sunsail is offering crew positions aboard four brand new Jeanneau 40 yachts and one new Jeanneau
36 for the next Milecatchers courses, departing Sydney on 1 May 2001.

There are only four crew positions available on each yacht, guaranteeing maximum personal
attention and hands-on experience.

The course costs are $2,000 per person and include all on-board meals, tuition and accommodation.
Return transfers from Hamilton Island and any additional costs incurred during possible mainland
stops are at the personal expense of each student.

The Sunsail Maritime Academy requires that all crew possess sailing skills and knowledge to at
least Competent Crew level, and each student must bring their own Personal Floatation Device and
personal EPIRB.

The Sunsail Maritime Academy is Australia's leading sailing school with bases in Sydney's Lavender
Bay and Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. The Academy offers a range of AYF and commercial
courses catering for sailing novices through to the most advanced mariner.

For bookings and more information on the Milecatchers Courses or other Sunsail Maritime Academy
courses, contact Trina Howes, Sunsail Maritime Academy on Tollfree 1800 988 803.
