Farr 40 division - 1st Race PROVISIONAL results, 2000 Ord Minnett Regatta

by Editor on 2 Dec 2000
Southern Star 2 crossed the line 35 seconds ahead of Emotional Hooligan (Marcus Blackmore), followed by Corinthian Doors (Richard Perini) and Leroy Brown (Warren Wieckmann). In it's first major Farr 40 regatta, Neill Whiston's Fruit Machine crossed the line in 5th place.

Only 90 seconds separated 1st from 5th, an indication of tight and competitive racing.

Envy (Anthony Dickson) crossed the line in 6th place, followed by Brighton Star (David Gotze), War Games (David Urry), Smile (Simon Whiston), Weapon (Robert Skinner), Syntegra Rapscallion (Dick Voorderhake), Buon Giorno (Stephen Ellis), Sharp One Step Ahead (Dennis McDonald), Truant (Michael and Bill Quinn) and Farr Too Much Fun (Philip Coombs).

There was a 5 minute gap between the first boat and last boat over the line..

Race One was sailed in 18 knots of breeze, which dropped back to 15 knots, in lumpy and choppy sea conditions.
