This event, the fourth in the 2026 Midland area Double chine series, was held on the River Trent on Sunday 20th September. The conditions were excellent with a good westerly wind and sunshine. Seven boats took part which included three visitors from Ogston, Midland and Shustoke sailing clubs.

In the first race Matt Rawson crewed by Luke Hartshorn (Ogston/Scammonden) tacked in to a brilliant position on the start line and led the race from beginning to end despite a good battle with Paul and Ria Burgoine (Shustoke) on the first windward leg. Second was Paul and Ria with Paul Young crewed by Tia Ellis (Midland) third.

After an excellent lunch the second race got away on a similar but more condensed course.

This time Paul and Ria made the best start and got away, leading around the windward mark and down the run until a navigational error allowed Paul and Tia to take the lead for about half a lap, when Matt and Luke caught up just getting an inside overlap at a leeward mark to take the lead which they held to the finish. Paul and Tia finished second with Chris Abbott and Rosie Wilson (Nottingham/Ogston) third.

After a short break the third race started on a new course would decide the runner up places. This time Paul and Tia made the best start, with the top three boats exchanging places all the way up the first beat. Matt and Luke eventually took the lead from Paul and Ria with Paul and Tia close behind in third. The race finished in that order.

Special mention was be made of two new sailors G Gill and J Leefe from Nottingham SC who only leant to sail this year competing in their first open meeting enjoying themselves immensely.

After the prize-giving winning helm Matt Rawson thanked everyone at Nottingham for a great day's sailing. This victory meant Matt also won the Double Chine trophy for the Midland area series.
