Artemis SailGP has confirmed the signing of Andy Maloney as flight controller for the team’s debut campaign in the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship, adding one of the league’s most accomplished and technically assured athletes to its lineup.

A three-time America’s Cup winner, Maloney arrives with a reputation for precision, composure and elite mastery of the F50’s flight systems. His signing marks a major step forward as Artemis SailGP builds toward its first season on the global stage.

Widely regarded as one of the most trusted hands in the cockpit, he combines deep technical understanding with sharp racing instincts, making him a key asset as Artemis prepares for its maiden campaign.

The move also reunites Maloney with Artemis SailGP driver Nathan Outteridge after the pair sailed together to victory at the 2024 America’s Cup as part of Emirates Team New Zealand.

While both have competed extensively in SailGP, the 2026 Season marks the first time they will line up together across a full championship.

Outteridge welcomed the signing, highlighting both the personal connection and competitive upside.

2025 Season // Andy Maloney joins Artemis SailGP “Andy and I have shared some incredible moments on the water," Outteridge said.

“We’ve both raced in SailGP before, but this is the first time we’ll be on the same team for the season. Andy’s one of the sharpest flight controllers in the game and having him onboard gives us a huge advantage. I’m excited to sail with him again - this time, with Artemis.”

Maloney completes the Artemis SailGP roster alongside Outteridge, Chris Draper, Julia Gross, Brad Farrand and Julius Hallström.

“Joining Artemis SailGP is a really exciting step," Maloney said. "There’s a clear vision here, and the chance to help shape a new team is something I’m really motivated by.

"I’ve raced both with and against Nathan and Chris plenty of times, and now teaming up with them again - this time in SailGP - feels like the right challenge at the right time.

"I’m proud of my journey in the league so far and now it’s time to bring that experience into Artemis and help build something world-class.”

The Artemis SailGP Team will make its championship debut at the opening event of the 2026 SailGP season at the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG on 17-18 January.
