Noble Marine Enterprise National Championships at Tenby Sailing Club - Day 4

by Charles Morrish 7 Aug 2025 13:02 BST 3-8 August 2025

Course: Trapezoid outer loop, three beats
Wind: SW F2
Race 6

Only one race was scheduled for Wednesday in order to catch up with the overall race programme.

It appeared that the committee boat end was favoured and several boats that started there tacked early onto port to take advantage of a left side lift. Unfortunately for them the lift continued and the boats above them were better placed.

The main beneficiaries were Jeremy & Becca Stephens and Charles Morrish & Dan Swaffield. These two were nip and tuck all the way to the windward mark with Charles & Dan just ahead at that point. Jeremy & Becca took the lead at the first leeward mark and gradually pulled further clear. Chris Palmer & Ella Rich were third round the windward mark and consolidated that position as the race progressed.

Crews' Race

This was scheduled immediately after Race 6 on a windward/leeward course with two beats. Nine Enterprises joined in the fun. Becca Stephens crewed by dad Jeremy came out on top with Dan Swaffield crewed by Duncan Willoughby in second and Alex Homer & Jon Woodward in third.
