Squib class at the Waldringfield Cartoon Trophy

The Waldringfield Cartoon Trophies open meeting finishes off the summer season for several classes including the Squib. Six local boats welcomed two visitors who, as ever, showed us their transoms.
Saturday saw all classes on dinghy type courses which resulted in close encounters which didn't suit us - or the dinghies.
Sunday, with a bit more breeze, saw us sent off to play downriver. That was better but seven Squibs converging as they approached Kirton mark on a dead run was interesting, to put it mildly. This was after an entertaining luffing match under spinnaker between 91 Dave Pinner/ Jono Baker and 881 Andy Moore/Simon Scammell. The rest of us expecting them to go on the mud.
The overall winners were 91 with 881. Home honours went to 763 Pete and Jen Greatrex in third place.
