Yesterday's Announcement by the Western Australian Premier on the easing of Border Restrictions from the 5th February means that the plans for the 2022 Perth Youth Cup and Warren Jones Gala Luncheon can be taken to the next level!

Friday, 11 February 2022 | Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club

A three-course meal, premium bottomless Western Australian beers and wines, along with a keynote address from this year's Guest Speaker, Simon Trott, Chief Executive of Rio Tinto Iron Ore.

At the conclusion of the luncheon, we encourage spectator boats to head out onto the waters in Freshwater Bay to watch the finals of the 2022 Perth Youth Cup (onboard refreshments can provided, for prearranged vessels). Ashore after the finals racing will be the presentations for the 2022 Perth Youth Cup and also the overall 2022 WA Tour.

As a home-grown WA boy, Simon has vast experience in his industry and a deep understanding of the iron ore market and the global customer base.

Under Simon's leadership, the Commercial team at Rio Tinto Iron Ore has continued to enhance customer experiences, in part by using new technology and digitisation to simplify interactions, in addition to launching initiatives to allow the business to respond more quickly to changing market conditions.

Travelling teams welcome for the 2022 Perth Youth Cup ON 08-11 February

The 2022 Perth Youth Cup is now a National 4-Day Event! Travelling interstate and international teams are encouraged and POSSIBLE thanks to the announcement by the WA Government of the Border Restrictions easing as of Saturday, 05 February 2022.

What does that mean for the event?

  • Increased level of National & International Competition in Freshwater Bay
  • 4-Day National Competition instead of 3-Day Local
  • Better Racing, Wider Audience, Better Outcomes for Competitors!!

The 2022 Perth Youth Cup will officially be classed as a National Event meaning the competition will run over four days instead of three!

Any national or international teams wanting to attend the under-25 Match Racing event to be held at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club on 08-11 February 2022 can show their commitment to attend by completing the entry form online. Accommodation assistance will be provided along with complimentary training sessions for any travelling teams. Get your entries in now!

(if for some reason the border restrictions are re-implemented and you can no longer travel to Perth to compete, entry fees will be fully refunded!)

Colin Mullins Youth Regatta

Local teams - Save the date! This could be a qualifier for the Perth Youth Cup... Stay tuned!

The 2022 Colin Mullins Youth Regatta is a 1-Day Match Racing Event to be hosted by Royal Perth Yacht Club on Sunday, 30 January 2022.

With this happening prior to the easing of Border Restrictions on Saturday, 5 February, this event is aimed at local competitors - but any teams travelling to WA during this time are also welcome!
