The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, in conjunction with Ocean Clothing Group, is pleased to announce the Bollé International Youth Match Racing Regatta will return from 22-26 November 2021.

Following the cancellation of the 2020 regatta due to the Covid pandemic, competitors will once again challenge for the Joy Ride Perpetual Trophy.

In 2002, MaryAnn Maxwell donated the trophy to the CYCA in recognition of her late husband, Gary McPike. Gary was a long standing CYCA Member and great supporter of the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy as an on-water umpire. The trophy was named after his yacht, Joy Ride.

Whilst the regatta usually attracts the attention of international teams from Europe and the Americas, this year's event will showcase some of Australasia's best new talent.

It will also be one of the first international youth match racing competitions to be held in Australia in almost two years, with New Zealand teams expected to travel and provide some strong Trans-Tasman rivalry.

For event partners Ocean Clothing Group, the 2021 edition will celebrate 13 years in partnership with the CYCA as they continue to support youth sailing.

"Ocean Clothing Group are extremely excited to see the return of the Joy Ride Perpetual Trophy being awarded at this year's Bollé International Youth Match Racing Regatta," said Ocean Clothing Group Chief Executive Officer David Oliver.

"After a difficult year in 2020, it's going to be great to see some of the best Australian and New Zealand youth match racers compete at this event.

"We are very proud of our partnership with the CYCA, focusing on our continued commitment to support the next generation of sailors."

The Notice of Race is now available, with a request for invitations open until Friday 24 September.
