Yachties and boaties have a significant role to play in the environment, especially as we get to play and race in some of the best habitats. But we also need to get better at looking after and even enhancing the environment. Yachting New Zealand were recently awarded gold certification under the Sailors for the Seas clean regatta programme for the Oceanbridge NZL Sailing Regatta and a number of other clubs and events have also been recognised for their achievements. You can read about it in this edition of Briefings and there are also some simple ideas on how your club can get more involved.
