Due to the half term break there was a reduced turnout of eight sailors for the last of IOCA South's Pre Zone Winter Training sessions at Spinnaker SC.

While the strong wind resulted in sailing being cancelled at most venues across the UK coaches Andy Kerr and Chay Taylor did a great job of getting the young sailors afloat with activities tailored to suit the conditions.

Andy kept the more experienced sailors afloat all morning honing their heavy weather technique whereas Chay kept the younger sailors (8 years and up) busy with shorter sessions combined with hot chocolate/snack refuelling stops.

The day finished with a Race Series with a difference including events such as the "freestyle race" and "slalom race". All sailors came ashore smiling and ready for the end of Training prize-giving where they were awarded with prizes and medals for their efforts.
