After eight challenging races the 15th Wagner Cup - 6th Bertamini Trophy ended, a classic event at the beginning of October organized by the Circolo Vela Torbole on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation, on Garda Trentino, reserved for the fascinating Dragone class, which next days will celebrate its 90th anniversary with the "Dragon 90th Anniversary Regatta" in Sanremo.
The first two days the conditions were hard with wind even higher than 20 knots and formed waves. The first day was the most spectacular with a clear sky and a strong northern wind in the morning, which did not give much hope for the early afternoon, when the boats went into the water.
The Russian crew formed by Samokhin-Kirilyuk-Harsberg did not miss a beat, and with a succession of three firsts, a second, two thirds and a fourth, are quietly awarded the overall win with seven points ahead of the Germans Nicola Friesen-Borkowski-Hoesch. In third were the other Germans aboard "Ingrind" with Dirk Pramann at the helm along with Markus Koy and Olympic champion Fredrik Lööf (1 gold and two Star-class bronzes respectively in London, Sydney and Beijing).
