A regular race with points counting to trophies presented in November, the 5th Round was challenging with light North winds, a late course design, and heavy swells.
'Vado', an Aphrodite 29 made the perfect start Northwards crossing the line at the bottom of a deep swell leaving only the mast and sails visible.
The original 'X' course race, ('X' being a course created by the Race Station moments before start) three-lap race was shortened. This was because owing to low speeds between the sections, and complications encountered by skippers at the turns in the large swells and light wind. There was one OCS (on course side) event and one retirement.
Scarborough Yacht Club congratulates all the teams and the results will contribute to the final trophy awards in November.
