Scottish Solo Travellers supported by HD Sails at Loch Lomond Sailing Club

by David Parkin 19 Jul 2018 15:22 BST 14 July 2018

On a lovely day Loch Lomond Sailing Club hosted the latest round of the Scottish Solo series, supported by HD Sails, on Saturday July 14th. 16 boats entered from the Borders to Aberdeen and found sun and 10 to 14 knots of wind with enough oscillations to keep everyone on their toes.

LLSC ran three very slick races on triangle sausage courses. The only problem being the speed that the local foiling Moths were sailing at!

The first race was won by David Sword from CCC beating Keith Milroy (St Mary's Loch SC). Keith then did a horizon job in the second race. This meant it was all down to the final race. David won with Kev Gibb (Largo Bay SC) second. This meant David won on 2 pts, with Keith on 3 pts, and Kev taking third place on countback from John Colgrave from Aberdeen & Stonehaven YC.

As usual though the racing was very close throughout with any mistake punished by losing multiple places.

Many thanks to all the team at LLSC for a excellent day.

Six Scottish boats are heading to Hayling for the Nationals this weekend. The next traveller along with the Ben Ledi trophy is at Aberdeen & Stonehaven YC on August 11 and 12.
