Would you like to use your boat a bit more over winter and have some fun at the same time? The Time Trialling Group invites you to join in the State Time Trialling series.

You will have seen the reports and photos regularly showing the Time Trialling competitors (TT'ers) enjoying competing in the State Time Trialling Heats and some of the many Club invitational events held over the winter.

The Time Trials themselves all take place on the Swan and are usually around an hour in duration. They are followed up with either a function at one of the participating clubs or a 'raft-up' in Matilda Bay. Word is getting around about the events and social activities and the so the number of RPYC participants has grown dramatically – but we would like more boats and members to join with us.

If you would like to know more and find out how it works, there is a training day being hosted by South of Perth Yacht Club on 29 April 2018. Experienced and new TT'ers from a number of clubs on the river will be attending.

A group of RPYC TT'ers will be heading over to SoPYC around 9 am. Members would be welcome to tag along on one of these boats or bring their own boat if they wish. SoPYC has arranged for a number of experienced TT'ers to go out on the participating boats to provide some guidance on how to Time Trial.

There will also be a theory session that will provide guidance on how to use navigations and timing aids during the events.

Following the training sessions everyone is invited to stay for a meal and some fellowship.

The details are as follows:

  • Sunday 29 April 2018
  • Meet at RPYC around 8.30 – 8.45 am
  • Bring a stop watch or other timing device and a notepad.
Please contact Kate at sailassist@rpyc.com.au to indicate your interest and whether you wish to join another member or bring your own boat.
