Solo open meeting at Ripon Sailing Club - Preview

Ripon Sailing Club are hosting their annual Solo Open Event on April 7th 2018. The club has a thriving Solo class and racing scene with over 20 Solo owners in the club. Every year they welcome other Solo owners to come along and race on the unique venue that is Farnham lake, a flooded S shaped quarry a few miles away from the spa town of Harrogate.
The club will have a photographer present who shall aim to get an on water action photo of every entrant taking part and a three race format kicks off at 11am with 2 races to count. After everyone's efforts prizes of wine and local craft beers shall await the top finishers!
Solo Class representative Andy Cheetham said, "Throughout the fleet we have a wide range of abilities and ages who sail vintage and modern Solo's so it's always a pleasure to welcome other Solo owners to join with us and race against our diverse fleet!"
Last year's event, which was then part of the Northern Traveller Series had 19 entries and was won by leading northern Solo jockey, Stephen Denison from Winder Boats, however this year's event doesn't form part of a series and so promises to be a less intense affair!
