Next May, five UK fleets are returning to Carnac for the 2nd edition of SMELT and this time you could win a day's professional coaching. Throughout the event there will be some friendly rivalry between the classes with a range of on and off the water competitions and the winning fleet will win a full day's professional coaching for the top 10 from Adam Bowers.

Adam is a multiple championship winning sailor himself and, with experience coaching at all levels from kids just starting out right up to Olympic level, he Is going to be able to offer some top level advice that can really help improve your sailing.

While all the classes involved regularly run training events, most of these are aimed at the middle of the fleet or those new to a class and so this is a chance for everyone to get a benefit. I know many will argue that the top guys don't need any extra help but this is both their chance to improve and, as they are usually the ones helping the rest of the fleet, any information they gain is sure to be passed around quickly. Plus, if you are a Lark or 12 sailor you are currently guaranteed a top 10 finish so all you'd need to do is make sure your fleet beat the others to the prize and you're sorted!

Over 60 boats have already entered, to see who has signed up and to add your name to the list just visit www.smelt.info/entries. Below is a handy little FAQ, plus any other details can be found online at www.smelt.info.
