Byte Open at Combs Sailing Club - Preview

After a very successful season with increased entries and new boats registered the Byte Circus revisits Combs Sailing Club for its annual open event. Combs is home to both the National and Inland Champions, meaning that fierce competition is guaranteed!

This is a particularly friendly and attractive club where a warm welcome can be expected with free and easy camping and one of the best views in the country.

The Byte fleet reflects the ethos of the class with young people, ladies and mature sailors competing equally in these brilliant, dynamic little boats. Racing at Combs can be both frustrating and rewarding beneath the spectacular back drop of the Peak District hills.

All are welcome including C2, C1 and Classic rig boats with four races on Saturday, two on Sunday morning and a training session on Sunday afternoon.

So come along and enjoy close racing, scenery and hospitality at the "Garda" of the North!

The fleet can confirm there is enough depth to turtle The Combs Open saw ten keen sailors descend on the sailing club, which was lacking in water but not in close racing. Opening up the ILCA South Coast Grand Prix Series with a guest class Spinnaker Club held the season opener for the ILCA South Coast Grand Prix Series on Saturday 28 May. An extra day for the class during the POSH single handed event This year, the Bytes combined their three day National Championships with the POSH single handed event hosted by Paignton Sailing Club. Wide appeal of the boat evident at the event The last event in the Byte class annual calendar is the Inland Championships, hosted by Bowmoor SC.
