The beginning of March signals the real start of the sailing season in the UK, and reports are coming in thick and fast to YachtsandYachting.com! With it we've had some absolute crackers and this has been, without doubt, the closest Henri Lloyd Report of the Month yet.
February's winner is a good news story. While only nine boats raced and the weather was atrocious, the circumstances behind the Bewl Blaster are a story in itself. Bewl Sailing Association was born after Bewl Valley Sailing Club was forced into administration. The story of the race was read by many, liked by many and also wins the February Report of the Month prize of a Henri Lloyd Dri-Pac for author Martin Brooking.
March's winner was an entirely different kind of article. The West Lancs 24 hour race is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2016 and Alex Halliwell penned an amazing history of the event with classic photos and sailing celebrity mentions. The article gained a massive 556 facebook likes and topped our chart in the popular news articles for a while.
As well as authors winning prizes, all those who nominate winning reports are also in with a chance of winning a Henri Lloyd Dri-Pac. Our lucky winners in this draw are Claire Matthews and Daniel Farrimond.
Keep nominating when you see a great report. We love recognising all our writers contributions and maybe you can win a prize too!
You can nominate any report from the last month to be in with a chance of winning a Henri Lloyd Dri-Pac and also help recognise the great work that our writers do in publicising sailing events up and down the UK and around the world.
