Stand B40, 5-6 March 2016
With the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show almost upon us, it seems the right time to wish all of our fellow sailors a 'Happy new season' - whether you sail a Lightning368 or not.
It seems to have been a long Winter break and we're certainly itching to get out and about during this coming season to meet and race against our friends old and new.
The Lightnings will, again, be at the show displaying a couple of new boats built by our class builder John Claridge, as well as the usual association members with whom to talk all things Lightning368, find us in the Great Hall at stand B40.
These great little boats offer something a little different to the mainstream and is certainly one of the friendliest and most sociable classes around at the moment, so pop by and say hi during the show and take a look at what we can offer.
We have put together another great series of events for 2016 with another year of both old and new venues criss-crossing the country to get us out and about a little more.
The 2016 Lightning368 Grand Prix Series shapes up like this:
- Manor Park SC - April 9th & 10th (Training on 9th, racing on 10th)
- Up River YC - May 7th & 8th (Training on 7th, racing on 8th)
- Thorpe Bay - May 28th & 29th (Sea Champs) - with an invite to stay on for regatta on 30th.
- Denholme SC - June 11th & 12th (Northern Champs)
- Cookham Reach - July 9th
- Royal Lymington YC - July 30th & 31st (Southern Champs)
- Oxford SC - August 13th
- Northampton SC - September 3rd & 4th (Nationals)
- Hunts SC - October 1st
- Broxbourne SC - October 29th
- West Oxfordshire SC - November 12th (Rum & Mince Pies + class evening dinner)
A great set of events for the new season and we hope to see plenty of LN368 helms out on the water during the year. Anyone interested is more than welcome to visit us at any of our events and here's wishing everybody, irrespective of class sailed, fair winds for the coming year.
