The Scottish RS300 Championship was held on 27th September at a beautiful sunny Prestwick. Nine home boats were joined by Paul Rigg from North Berwick who was taking time out from his Moth and RS600.

Three excellent races were held, and in the light conditions Paul and Storky dominated all the races. After one win each it came down to the last race. Race Officer Jim McGillivray delayed to allow the very light wind to do a few pirouettes, and then got the deciding race underway.

Paul and the Stork were neck and neck all the way to the finishing line.

A very tactical bit of luffing at the finishing mark allowed Paul to sneak over by half a boat length, and this made him the new Scottish Champion.

There was close racing behind these two with three different competitors taking third in the three races, Dave Sinclair, Tom Whitehead and Mark Taylor.

Thanks to Jim and his team for running three great races which were much appreciated by all competitors.

Overall Results:

1st Paul Rigg (ELYC)
2nd Alastair McLaughlin (PSC)
3rd Tom Whitehead (PSC)
4th Neil Beveridge (PSC)
5th Dave Sinclair (PSC)
6th John Wilson (PSC)
7th Mark Taylor (PSC)
8th Ian Ross (PSC)
9th Eamon Rankine (PSC)
10th Alan Sinclair (PSC)
