New official 2012 Vendée Globe app now available

Get onboard the Vendée Globe via smartphone and tablet (iPhone, iPad and Android). The Vendée Globe has a fan base growing daily on social networks, Facebook and Twitter and since November 1st, the race has also had its own mobile app, free of charge and available in three languages (French, English and Spanish) reaching out to larger audience.

The app enables Vendée Globe 2012 fans to:

  • Follow the start and finish of the race live, as well as listen to all the skippers' daily radio chats.
  • Enjoy the incredible new feature enabling fans to experience the race as a skipper.
  • Follow in detail the skippers' routes, their speed and weather on the race map.
  • Set news alerts and don't miss any of the race breaking news.
  • Follow the 2012-2013 Vendée Globe text and multimedia content newsfeed (photos, videos and audio clips).
  • Check out the boats' real time positions.
  • Access the skipper's news, pictures, videos and audio clips.
  • Customise the homepage to feature favourite skippers.
  • Share, like and comment through the Vendée Globe official social networks (Facebook and Twitter).
The official 2012 Vendée Globe app will take users to the heart of the most impressive non stop solo sailing race and enable fans to follow LIVE the skippers in the 'Everest of the Seas'.

From 1st November 2012 the Vendee Globe 2012 app is available from Apple Store and Google Play Store.
