The third day at PHÂRO regatta-Semana Olimpica de Barcelona was useful to reconfirm the leads of the five Spanish crews.

In Laser class the big favorite, Italian Diego Negri, is followed by Allan Julie from Seychelles. In third place is Javier Hernández from Tenerife.

In the Laser Radial class two Spanish representatives; Alicia Cebrían from Tenerife and Lucia Reyes from Cartagena have reached second and third positions although the Italian Larissa Nevierov leads the class.

In the 470 class Spain leads in both the male and female disciplines. In the female category the twice Olympic medal winner, Natalia Via Dufresne and Laia Tutzó have increased their advantage over Marc Patiño and Juan Omar. In the 49er class, Alberto Padrón and Javier de la Plaza are still in the lead, as are Fernando Echavarri and Antón Paz in Tornado. In the Europe Marc Paris leads the way.

In the 470 feminine class, Natalia Via Dufresne and Laia Tutzó aren't giving their opponents any chance with an eight point lead over Sylvia Vogl and Carolina Flatscher from Austria. In third place are Italians Natalie Testa and Silvia Cattarini. In the male category Marc Patiño and Juan Omar have overtaken the number one in the world rankings, Italians Gabrio Zandoná and Francesco Della Torre who are now six points behind. In third place are Syen Coster and Kalle Coster from Holland.

In the 49er class, Alberto Padrón and Javier de la Plaza were also able to increase their advantage to six points over the Italians Pietro and Gianfranco Sibello. In third place are Alejandro Domínguez and Carlos de Bricio from Andalusia.

In the Tornado class, Fernando Echavarri and Antón Paz won by three minutes to help them increase their advantage over the Russian Andrey Kirilyuk and Valery Ushov. Third in class are the Italian Vicenio Sorrentino, and Giorgo Colombo.

In the Europe Class, the Catalan Marc Paris has kept the good string of results up and has extended his lead to seven points over Tomas Vika from Checoslovaquia. In third place we find Elisabeth Llargues from Catalunya.

In the Finn class, medal winner Rafa Trujillo has lost his leadership after finishing in second place twice. Ahead of him is Guillaume Florent from France with three points ahead over the Andalusian. In third place is Pablo Arrate from Cantabria.

The day started with a delay due to the low winds but it changed to a slow wind from the south at the beginning of the afternoon. This change allowed all the racing to be completed.

Tomorrow is the final day of the PHARO regatta–BOSW and the organization committee have decided to start the day earlier, at 11:30.
